HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This little girl is making us C.R.A.Z.Y. For all you moms out there - HELP! She is 2 1/2 (today) and having major sleeping issues.
Emily was always a challenge - still is - to stay in bed when we put her there.
Well, now Maddie gets out of bed many times when we put her down. She is crying. She wants her mama.
Then, when she FINALLY falls asleep - we see her again around 3 am - she comes into our room bawling - wanting to sleep with her mama. The problem - for several nights I just let her sleep there for awhile before Brian would carry her back - which still brought out extreme grief when she would feel him picking her up.
Anyway - last night - this process of putting her back in bed after she came in crying lasted from 4:30 until about 6am when we put the matress back in her crib and tossed her in (lovingly, of course) She EVEN came in once after that - obviously escaped the crib - which she hadn't EVER done - ughhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Do we just go back to the crib? Because she has been giving me a hard time at nap time, too - doesn't want to lay down and stay in her room / bed wihtout me. I am a sucker for this little girl crying "mama."
I need advice and encouragement here, people!

I wouldn't go back to the crib, even if she wasn't climbing out of it. I say this because you're going to be needing that crib soon and going backwards now may be even a bigger hassle to break later. Could she be getting disturbed by Emily's movements? Maybe sleeping next to each other is now a problem. I would keep putting her back into bed right when she comes in your room, it sounds like you've tried this, and she will eventually know that's where she needs to be. Hopefully just a phase, I know it's rough at 3am but she'll get it eventually so don't give up!
I agree with Melanie. I don't think I would put her back in the crib either. An idea I had would be to move her toddler bed back into her old room and explain to her that if she gets up in the night, then you will put her back in her room, but make it so she can't get back out (similar to what you did with Emily and we did with Micah for a while). Maybe you could have a fan running or a noise machine in Emily's room so Maddie's screaming won't wake her up. When we did this with Micah, it only took 2 nights before he stopped getting up. Once Maddie is a sure thing at night again, then you could move her back into Emily's room.
Good luck!
Hey! Brian just talked to one of our neighbors and her little boy (2 1/2) is doing the same thing. He sleeps with 8 buddies and they started taking a buddy away everytime he would get up and come into their room. They said it only took a couple of nights for him to realize the buddies would all be gone if he kept it up. I think they eventually gave them back one at a time as he proved he could stay in his room. Just an idea...that worked for them.
Hope you all had fun last night!! I can't wait to hear about it.
